The exchange rate is part of every transaction, whether it is shipping or item purchases or even buying QC pics. It is one of those "hidden fees". This page contains everything you need to know about the exchange rate. It's automatically updated. Let's clear up all the rumors and make sure everyone understands what this is about.

Using the following tools you can get a good overview over the different exchange rates for different agents. However, you shouldn't overvalue this information. In the end, the exchange rate is just another fee you have to pay. Only the total counts. That's why you should use the shipping calculator, it includes all fees including the exchange rate, and shows you the conclusively cheapest agent.

Double Conversion for Non-US Customers

If the US Dollar isn't your native currency, you have to convert twice. In this case, your agent isn't the only one charging currency conversion fees. Services like Paypal use this situation to stuff their pockets, just like agents. You can use a service like Wise* to get more favorable exchange rates.

Forex isn't an agent, it's the market exchange rate published by financial institutions. You can see how much CNY you get for each USD deposited, and conversely, how much USD you have to deposit to get 1 CNY. The premium, is what you would call the currency exchange fee.
