Yesterday a Moldovan smugger tried to smuggle replica clothes into Moldova, when he was being interrogated by the customs he told them that he was buying them from a local market in Ukraine in order to re-sell them on Moldovian markets.

The local police later found that he was one of the replica producers who owned a sweatshop Ukraine producing t-shirts, hoodies and other garments, using brand names like “Nike”, “Puma”, “Under Armor” etc. He planned to sell them on marketplaces like Instagram and popular craigslist site 999.md in Moldova after getting them over the border.

The occurrence made national news.
